Super Smash Bros. Melee

It is a crossover fighting video game that features 25 characters.  At the start of the game, you will access fourteen characters and the other 11 require you to first complete tasks. 

It was released in 2001 by Hal Laboratory and Published for the GameCube by Nintendo, It is the second in the Super Smash Bros series and features characters, stage and gameplay modes from Pokémon, 


The Legend of Zelda, Star Fox and Mario, which are all Nintendo video games franchises. People love Melee for its simple controls, visuals, gameplay and orchestrated soundtrack.

Mario Kart: Double Dash

Mario Kart: Double Dash is a racing game which challenges its players to compete against each other on its Mario-themed tracks. It is the third installment in the home consoles and fourth in the Mario Kart series. 


It introduced new gameplay features like supporting cooperative (Co-op) gameplay which uses two riders per kart. One player uses the items while the other drives the kart.

The Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker

It is an action-adventure game and the tenth edition in the series. It is set on a number of islands located in a huge sea. It is a departure for the series. Protagonist Link tries to save his sister from being eaten by Sorcerer Ganon. 

He instead becomes entangled in a struggle for a sacred wish-granting relic, Triforce. Link is aided by allies like Princess Zelda, King of Red Lions, and others to sail the ocean to acquire more power to defeat Ganon.

Luigi’s Mansion

It is a 2001 action-adventure video game and qualifies for this list because it sold over 2.5 million copies hence ranking number five. The main story is played over four stages and players can access a gallery and training room between stages. 

At each stage, players control Luigi as he hunts down the ghosts that are hidden inside the mansions. He acquires keys for the rooms and eventually deals with the boss ghost at the end of the stage. 

Animal Crossing

It is a life simulation game in which the human player character goes into an anthropomorphic populated village. The player can interact with other players and the animals through the GameCube’s memory card. 

The game is played in real-time because it is synced with GameCube’s calendar and internal clock.  It therefore observes public holidays and seasons. 

Animal Crossing is sometimes called a communication game where players are the new residents of the town.

Metroid Prime

It is an action-adventure game that has a sci-fi setting in which players control Samus Aran, a bounty hunter. It begins with Samus battling the Space Pirates that are doing biological experiments on planet Tallon IV. 

The game involves platform jumping, solving puzzles to expose secrets and shooting foes using a ‘lock-on’ mechanism. This mechanism allows circle strafing while targeting the enemy.
